Detailed Description:
Position Summary: The Development Officer (Grant Writer) develops and writes public and private grant proposals in a high volume, fast-paced, innovative environment. Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing and submitting grant applications in cooperation with program management, researching funding sources, analyzing their requirements, and determining feasibility and benefit as a funding source for existing or future services; liaising with funding sources; assisting with new program development; working with program staff to determine outcome and evaluation measures; assisting with contract compliance; compiling budgets, statistical, and information data; and organizing filing and maintaining documents, correspondence, etc.

Minimum Education and Experience: B.A. or six years related experience; Experience in non-profit service/development and writing experience.

Preferred Education and Experience: B.A.,12 units Public Administration or eight years related experience. Two (2) years non-profit development; two years grant-writing; HUD proposal writing experience with successful awards; working knowledge of St. Vincent de Paul Village and Martha�s Village & Kitchen programs and services.
